ANARCHISM

Practice of anarchism neither fetches any bliss nor any delectation for society. Unfortunately though, some political leaders in our country chairing authoritative posts and suppose to be the guide and mentor for their fellow countrymen, avow proudly of their being ‘Anarchist’.

It is very deleterious for our society that people chairing responsible authoritative posts acts like rogue godfather. Being in the administrative authority demands patience, pragmatism, judicious approach and sensibility handling any social issue. But it is very disheartening that govt. authorities of Delhi led by ‘AAP’ demonstrating least of the qualities since last few days.

Thing got worst, when the Delhi law minster ordered Police to raid private residences on suspicion of illicit activities and was not obliged.  He then, allegedly led a hostile mob and launched a midnight raid by himself barging into the residence of an African Lady (identified by the lady concerned).  Now, instead of handling this issue, which can and will attract severe diplomatic consequences, apart from its impact across India, the Delhi Chief Minster occupied the Delhi roads demanding removal of concerned police personnel for ‘disregarding’ Delhi Law Minister (Since Police dept. is being handled by the Central Govt.). Whether the law minister is guilty or not, will be proved and there are appropriate authorities to decide upon that.

Now, the point is, if elected and responsible ministers of the largest democracy on earth are acting in a manner such as this, what apotheosis they are setting for the masses?

May be, they are propagating that all they are doing for betterment of general public, but practice of such anarchism will only bring about propensity of coup d’état amongst people under political fray and also severely threaten our diplomatic relationship with foreign countries.

Piyali Island – Your Weekend Jaunt

More often than not, whenever we contemplate about taking a break from routine city life, our mind starts wandering about destinations pretty common to all of us.   While discussing a jaunt on a fall winter weekend amongst friends, the onus was upon me to find out a place which is close by, beautiful yet not very commonly known to masses. Instantly, the name of Piyali Island popped up in my mind.   Earlier, somewhere I’ve heard of the place but never happened to be there.   However, I’ve started scouring in the internet as well as amongst people who might be aware about it. From the internet, I got desired information to be able to put up to my association. Most of the people I asked though told me about the picnic spot Piyali which is en route to Canning, 24 Parganas (S). But, since I knew that what I was looking for I didn’t pay any heed to it.   Four of friends, including me decided to take up the excursion on Sunday, 21 st January 2018 by local t...

Ignoring Legacy - Bengal Trending

It seems that using quotes from yesteryears eminent literary and poets, and use it in distorted way have become a fashion these days in West Bengal. From Rabindranath to Jibanananda, quotes are being indiscriminately used modifying their original version, partly or fully and incorporating new phrasing to the will of the presenter, be it for the advertisement for renowned real estate company or by individuals. It is, thereby, more often than not, brings about meanings which have no distant connection of inner meaning with its original version.     We are living in an era, where reading of books & periodicals in an old fashioned way has become almost outdated and it has become and becoming more and more through Smartphone etc.   Old style local libraries have become oblivious. I doubt, people, who are unaware of originality of those prose and poems might consider these distorted versions as the original one, since the submitter of these versions merely acknowledge t...

Political Entrapment

Education and health system in West Bengal is in complete dismay. Teachers are busy protesting on the roads, since they have become victim of the limitless corruption in the system. Healthcare workers too, including doctors protesting against the system for exposing them to hooliganism in their job places. Why only them, everywhere around us, we can feel a sense of anarchy has taken over. As if, this anarchism is the new normalcy for them, people of West Bengal have accepted and living their life through smart phones, in self centred cocoon into the virtual world of social media. It is not that there are not protest and rebuttal coming across, but the problem is those voices are nose diving midway either in the political whirlwind or withering away as ebb tide and being taken over by new issues. Honestly, sometimes, it feels that negative issues are becoming addictive and people are willing to discuss negativity, as past time more than seriously contemplating over their impact on our s...
