Resurrection of love in Labhpur

Barbaric !! Savage!! Shameful......I don't have any more words in my vocabulary, or even if I have, cannot retrieve right now, since my inner self is overflowing with a feel of anguish.

Where are we living? Is it the country we feel proud of? Our culture, our humanity, all we claim of are  being severely challenged by some obnoxious & filthy creatures.

Yes, you rightly read, they are neither humans nor animals, coz even animals will scoff at humans, if they can, if we categorize them being humans.

However, My urge to the upholders of law and judiciary will be to please make these heinous creatures punish to the highest possible level within the human society!!!

Piyali Island – Your Weekend Jaunt

More often than not, whenever we contemplate about taking a break from routine city life, our mind starts wandering about destinations pretty common to all of us.   While discussing a jaunt on a fall winter weekend amongst friends, the onus was upon me to find out a place which is close by, beautiful yet not very commonly known to masses. Instantly, the name of Piyali Island popped up in my mind.   Earlier, somewhere I’ve heard of the place but never happened to be there.   However, I’ve started scouring in the internet as well as amongst people who might be aware about it. From the internet, I got desired information to be able to put up to my association. Most of the people I asked though told me about the picnic spot Piyali which is en route to Canning, 24 Parganas (S). But, since I knew that what I was looking for I didn’t pay any heed to it.   Four of friends, including me decided to take up the excursion on Sunday, 21 st January 2018 by local t...

Political Entrapment

Education and health system in West Bengal is in complete dismay. Teachers are busy protesting on the roads, since they have become victim of the limitless corruption in the system. Healthcare workers too, including doctors protesting against the system for exposing them to hooliganism in their job places. Why only them, everywhere around us, we can feel a sense of anarchy has taken over. As if, this anarchism is the new normalcy for them, people of West Bengal have accepted and living their life through smart phones, in self centred cocoon into the virtual world of social media. It is not that there are not protest and rebuttal coming across, but the problem is those voices are nose diving midway either in the political whirlwind or withering away as ebb tide and being taken over by new issues. Honestly, sometimes, it feels that negative issues are becoming addictive and people are willing to discuss negativity, as past time more than seriously contemplating over their impact on our s...

Bengal's Apathy to a Cricket Prodigy

Another edition (10 th ) of IPL has passed by. Mumbai Indians won the coveted trophy deservingly. Our very own Kolkata Knight Riders failed to rise to our expectations. We, Calcuttans are lamenting, naturally. Afterall, we are sports loving fraternity and when it comes to cricket, our passion goes overboard. When cricket conjugates with Bollywood, especially a star as big as Mr. Shah Rukh Khan, the whole scenario becomes frenzied. Unfortunately, achievements by a Bengal Tigress, in the field of sports, with its aura spread across global platform got eclipsed in this frenzy. The journey of Jhulan Goswami, a simple Bengali Girl from a very humble background to the pinnacle of world of cricket is simply outstanding and deserves special accolades. It is more so, as anyone associated with our society will admit what an uphill task it is to pursue a dream as expensive as playing cricket, specially being a woman. Thousands of hindrances fangs out and creates innumerable hurdles on the w...
